Saturday Night at the Movies at Raceology: King Kong (1933)
This would have been a good film for Halloween, but alas...
There's still an active copyright on this film? Apparently it will expire in 2028, 95 years after the original production. They should really give it a break though everyone knows the story by now, so many iterations in the media over the years. As I understand in some countries this film is no longer under copyright, I'm thinking of Japan. Interestingly enough though some of the movie companies have been able to lobby to change the laws sometimes so that they could extend their copyrights. Disney's Steamboat Willie is set to expire its copyright in 2024, we'll see what happens then.
