Year-End Review on Raceology

Image
Posted by Independent Thinker Hi. and Happy New Year to Everyone! Hopefully the New Year can be better than the one that preceded it, and I'm including myself in that wish. Raceology blog The raceology blog has been up now for over a year.  The anniversary was in October, but unfortunately, there wasn't much of a celebration since my situation hasn't been that well for the last 5 months or so, especially November. Being busy dealing with personal problems, moving, job, financial stuff really delimits my time on here, and on any kind of social media and I'm sure the same is true for most people here.  Despite that I think we've had a fairly decent run here, slowly but surely the blog has been building up in the direction and with the kind of content that I meant for it to have.  Lots of AmRen re-posts that I thought were important, especially good layman summaries of important works, there are included in the Raceology section by the way.  I started the

Vision-Centered Brain Selection Pressure Partly Responsible for Lower Neanderthal Intelligence

Image
by Independent Thinker Raceology December 27, 2019 A model of a Neanderthal Pre-Article Summary: Arguments made against Richard Lynn's cold winters theory, claiming that the case of Neanderthals having lower IQs than AMHs disprove his theory are fallacious since they fail to understand the different brain organization between AMHs, and Neanderthals.  Neanderthals evolved larger body sizes, and better visual systems and areas for visual processing in their brain than AMHs leaving them less cranial space for other functions like intelligence, whereas AMHs evolved social-centered brains increasing the sizes of their neocortex, and so intelligence.  When AMHs left Africa and diverged into colder environments they had more capacity to develop higher intelligence owing to their different brain organization, and proclivity to complex social structure, whereas the Neanderthals did not have this ability. Thus the evolutionary trajectories and constraints of Neanderthals and AMHs

Happy Holidays From Raceology! Movie: A Christmas Story (1983)

Image
Hi everyone, just thought I'd wish all a happy holiday season regardless of what you celebrate either Christmas, as the majority of us, or whatever even Koliada, though somehow I doubt almost anyone who comes here is a Slavic person who celebrates the solstice.  In any case I've been really busy as of late as I'm sure everyone has been as well, though I'm still working on various OPs to post on here. I thought I'd post a Christmas movie here, "A Christmas Story" I'm sure most have seen it, but I really don't want to put too much effort in thinking of a movie to post on here.  Good movie though. Can't say it'd please everyone though.

What the 1950s Were Like in the United States.

Image
Posted by John Engelman The decade of the 1950’s was the golden era for the white working class. White blue collar workers benefited from the economic reforms of the New Deal two decades earlier, and from the fact that the Second World War destroyed the factories of our trade rivals while leaving ours intact. This meant that American manufacturers enjoyed a buyers’ market for natural resources and a sellers’ market for what they produced. Nevertheless, they had a shortage of employees because the Immigration Reform Act of 1924 restricted the number of immigrants who could apply for work, and the birth rate during the Great Depression had been low.       Employers could afford to be generous with benefits and wages and they needed to be to attract and keep employees. One third of the work force belonged to labor unions. Because the top tax rate rarely dipped below 91%, taxes were low for working class Americans. During the 1950’s a white man with nothing more than a high schoo

Saturday Night at the Movies at Raceology: October: Ten Days That Shook the World (1928)

Hello all, I'm extremely busy this weekend, and tired so I don't have time to post a lot.  I'm working on expanding my ancient African history OPs, however to make something presentable, and contain so much data takes time.  Also, I'm working on a set of articles of East Asian history of science and technology, as well as making my Canada demographics OP into something ready for publication, and to continue it by looking at the issue in Australia and New Zealand. Anyway, I've been meaning to post this for a long time now.  It is a type of Soviet documentary-style (propaganda?) film about the October revolution, directed by Sergei Eisenstein of Battleship Potemkin fame. He was a critically renowned director.  This film didn't sit well with the Soviet authorities who thought that ordinary people wouldn't understand it or something to that effect. It was commissioned by the Soviet government to celebrate the 10th anniversary of them gaining power. Eisenste

Some Republicans believe all their troubles are caused by the poor, the disenfranchised and immigrants of all types while some Democrats believe all their troubles are caused by the rich and powerful and big corporations, who is correct?

Those Republicans and Democrats are both right. The civil rights legislation of the 1960’s and the War on Poverty led to five years of black ghetto rioting, and more enduring increases in black crime and illegitimacy. Black academic performance has not increased despite expensive efforts like Head Start and No Child Left Behind. The Immigration Reform Act of 1965 led to increases in immigration. By competing for jobs immigrants enable employers to hold the line on pay increases. By competing for places to live immigrants enable landlords to raise rents. In addition, third world peoples escape the dysfunctions in their societies, and bring those dysfunctions to the United States and Europe, spreading crime, disease, terrorism, and welfare dependency. The white backlash against blacks and immigrates has led to the Republican domination of the United States. Republicans have done little to address white concerns. Instead they have made the rich richer, while incomes for most white Am

AmRen: The Chosen People A Review of the Book by Richard Lynn

https://www.amren.com/features/2011/11/the-chosen-people/ The Chosen People Byron M. Roth, American Renaissance, November 2011 Richard Lynn,  The Chosen People: A Study of Jewish Intelligence and Achievement , Washington Summit Publishers, 2011, 408 pp. The Chosen People: A study of Jewish Intelligence and Achievement  is the most recent work of  Richard Lynn  dealing with group differences in IQ and their ramifications. As in all of his previous work over the past decade, he substantiates his arguments with huge quantities of empirical data. He advances his positions dispassionately and lets the facts speak for themselves, which they do in impressive, nearly irrefutable fashion. In his previous books he examined racial and ethnic differences in IQ for many groups.  The Chosen People  is a case study of one distinct group that has shown remarkably similar patterns of achievement in a wide variety of settings. Professor Lynn begins by pointing out the extraordinary su

These articles are based on scientific works, or intelligent opinions of policy, etc. Most of these articles are summaries intended for laymen.  On this blog this post will be a great introductory guide on this topic, with suggestions for further reading. Saturday Night at the Movies at Raceology: King Kong (1933)

This would have been a good film for Halloween, but alas... There's still an active copyright on this film?  Apparently it will expire in 2028, 95 years after the original production.  They should really give it a break though everyone knows the story by now, so many iterations in the media over the years. As I understand in some countries this film is no longer under copyright, I'm thinking of Japan.  Interestingly enough though some of the movie companies have been able to lobby to change the laws sometimes so that they could extend their copyrights.  Disney's Steamboat Willie is set to expire its copyright in 2024, we'll see what happens then. Anyway, all of you know the story, what a film:

Computer Technology, Genetics, and the Problem of Human Over Population

Image
Posted by John Engelman, Raceology Computer technology and the automation it makes possible are replacing the kinds of jobs most people have the native intelligence - let’s call it the IQ - to learn. At the same time, in the United States and internationally people with IQ’s below 100 are having more children who survive and reproduce than people with IQ’s above 100.         Computer technology is becoming more sophisticated. As it becomes more sophisticated, one must be ever more intelligent to design and program computers. One must also be more intelligent to learn a useful skill that cannot be removed by computers and industrial robots.       In a response to a letter to the editor from me Charles Murray wrote, “science is demonstrating that no one deserves his IQ. If, then, IQ is important in determining economic success in life—increasingly important, as John Engelman points out in his letter—why reward lucky people with high incomes?” Group Differences - Commentary

AmRen: Race, Intelligence, and Bias in Academe - Review by Jared Taylor

https://www.amren.com/news/2019/03/race-intelligence-bias-academe/ Race, Intelligence, and Bias in Academe Jared Taylor, American Renaissance, June 1992 Charles Darwin Race, Intelligence, and Bias in Academe , Roger Pearson,  Scott-Townsend Publishers , 1991, 304 pp. The discovery of genetics and the development of the theory of evolution were two of the most potentially far-reaching scientific advances of all time. By the turn of the century, thanks to the work of Gregor Mendel (1822-1884) and Charles Darwin (1808-1882), man for the first time had the knowledge with which to direct his own biological destiny. Rather than leave his further development to the genetic accidents that had governed it for millions of years, he could consciously and deliberately improve his very nature. Why, after a promising start in the early part of the 20th century, did men stop thinking that the laws of heredity applied to them? Why did they repudiate and even revile the scientific knowl

Critical Psychiatry: How Psychiatric Drugs Really Work - Dr. Breggin's Simple Truths Part 2

Image
Psychiatry is guilty of gross scientific misconduct. As it has been with the bogus "treatment" (torture?) of lobotomies, which were basically severing and damaging parts of the brain with an ice-pick, so today the tradition of lies, and quack treatments continue.  The whole "chemical imbalance" theory is based on specious reasoning.  Psychiatric drugs work by  inducing  abnormal states in the brain, not reversing them.  They disrupt normal neurotransmission, and have been shown to cause extensive brain damage.  Here Dr. Peter Breggin, often called the conscience of psychiatry does an introductory video explaining the how psychiatric drugs actually work unlike the lie that you've heard about them correcting "chemical imbalances".  Please see part 1 here: https://raceology-ethnography.blogspot.com/2019/11/critical-psychiatry-do-you-have.html He is a pioneer in the critical psychiatry field, and in many ways a hero. Without further ado here is the seco
