In Charlottesville trial, jurors learn to decode the secret slang of white supremacists “The tone of the site should be light. Most people are not comfortable with material that comes across as vitriolic, raging, nonironic hatred. The unindoctrinated should not be able to tell if we are joking or not,” according to a guide section titled “Lulz” — which stands for “laugh out loud.” Continuing with a derogatory term for Jews, it read, “This is obviously a ploy and I actually do want to gas k---s. But that’s neither here nor there This evidence, introduced in an ongoing civil trial against organizers of the deadly 2017 Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, appear

Rutgers professor says white people deserve low birth rates

The racist theory that is animating some Trump backers (opinion)

Look, you can attach these ideas to all kinds of political and violent movements, and individuals, but that won't change the tribal, and territorial nature of man. In former President Donald Trump's world, a high-speed cycle of influence can move radical ideas from the fringe to his personal agenda in short order. While other candidates and politicians use experts to screen out bad ideas -- Obama   used  a whole group just for health care issues, for instance -- Trump's filter seems calibrated to select themes like his false claims of voter fraud that excite or alarm his supporters. Follow the pattern, and there is a risk of a Trump 2024 campaign powered by the White Replacement Theory. © Anna Moneymaker/Getty Images  Rep. U.S. Economy Loses Its Bounce as Recovery Turns Into a Grind

Another from sonofseawolf, it looks like the US economy isn't holding out so well: Just a few months ago, the U.S. economy looked like it was roaring back from the pandemic slump. Now the recovery is starting to look more like a grind.   The spread of the delta variant has held back millions of Americans from spending on services like restaurants and hotel rooms.   Supply chains are still creaking and Hurricane Ida, which caused havoc in petrochemicals hub Louisiana as well as roughly $20 billion of flooding damage in the Northeast, may have made them worse. And high inflation is stretching household budgets.   The Atlanta Federal Reserve’s real-time estimate of economic activity now predicts growth of 1.2% in the quarter that ended in September. Two months ago it was forecasting 6%.   Estimated 3Q 2021 pace of growth has tumbled to just 1.2%© Bloomberg Estimated 3Q 2021 pace of growth has tumbled to just 1.2% Economists surveyed by Bloomberg are more upbeat. AT&T Employee Training Program Says, ‘White People, You are the Problem’

Ohio college student 'angry' and 'scared' after 'cisgender men' installed radiator in dorms: 'Safe space'

If they are so afraid of cisgender men I'm not sure how they'll get along in life without their "safe space". A student at Oberlin  College  in  Ohio  described being "scared" and "angry" after the school announced a work crew would be installing radiators in a "safe space" dormitory for women and trans students, explaining the crew would likely be "cisgender men." "I was angry, scared, and confused. Why didn’t the College complete the installation over the summer, when the building was empty? Why couldn’t they tell us precisely when the workers would be there? Why were they only notifying us the day before the i
