Paul Krugman Discusses the Republican Base

Paul Krugman, seems to have become more woke since he wrote this, "open immigration can’t coexist with a strong social safety net; if you’re going to assure health care and a decent income to everyone, you can’t make that offer global."

Prejudice can be seen as the wisdom of those with less education, just as enlightenment can be seen as the unjustified conceit of well educated people who suffer from what George Orwell called "money sheltered ignorance." In recent years I have come reluctantly to suspect that in states with large black populations legally sanction segregation was based on sound instinct. I see no value in third world immigration. Even the immigration of groups I like depresses wages, and contributes to the growing income gap.
The United States has the highest murder rate of any affluent democracy. The reason is the large percentage of Negroes and Hispanics in the United States. The last twelve thousand years of human evolution, at least, has not prepared most Negroes and many Hispanics for the intellectual and social demands of modern civilization.
A successful civilization requires three characteristics to be common in most of those who make comprise it. These are intelligence, obedience to the law, and monogamy. Intelligence is primarily determined by genes. Obedience to the law and monogamy are largely influenced by genes. These characteristics are only common among whites and Orientals. They deserve to be called "the two civilized races."
As much as I dislike Trump and the Republican Party, I cannot look forward to the increasingly multi racial United States Professor Krugman anticipates with calm forbearance.
