Sunday Night at the Movies: Blade Runner (1982) (*cyberpunk genre*)


This is a cyberpunk classic of the live action type as opposed to something like the Japanese anime Akira. This is a beautiful movie...I'll write more when I have the time. For now here's the movie, enjoy:

In a cyberpunk vision of the future, man has developed the technology to create replicants, human clones used to serve in the colonies outside Earth but with fixed lifespans. In Los Angeles, 2019, Deckard is a Blade Runner, a cop who specialises in terminating replicants. Originally in retirement, he is forced to re-enter the force when six replicants escape from an offworld colony to Earth.

 There are so many, and I mean so many news stories and videos online of assaults, and murders on the subway systems particularly New York. What is one of the common denominators? Well people can point to lots of things like poverty, mental illness, and so forth, but to me it seems like it is Black people.  An old video but still relevant nonetheless.
