No More Sunday Night at the Movies: Copyright claims, but recommendations
Hello, I am unsure if I can continue to offer a Sunday night at the Movies. Due to automatic copyright infringement notices the movies I upload to google, dailymotion, etc., get taken down. I am really only sharing them with my "friends" right? We could say we have a private virtual living room can't we, with big windows that others can see inside of?
Anyway, I don't charge anything for these movies anyway, but what can I do exactly? So unless I come up with another solution I will just make some movie recommendations and try to post some on here. I have already wasted quite some time setting the movies up.
My recommendations are:
One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest (1975):
A great movie that shows the cruelty and harm of the psychiatric industry especially at the tragic ending. Although those lobotomies are now performed with drugs and ECT rather than through surgery.
Mad Max 2 (1981):
This is a violent film, but it's cool in a dystopian sort of way. Worth watching at least once.
Ghost in the Shell (1995):
Amazing film that explores who we are as beings. It's about cyborgs in the future going after a hacker. It explores our roles in the universe as evolutionary beings that pass by, partly. "The film is set in 2029 Japan, and follows Motoko Kusanagi, a cyborg public-security agent, who hunts a mysterious hacker known as the Puppet Master. The narrative incorporates philosophical themes that focus on self-identity in a technologically advanced world." I highly recommend this film and to adults. It influenced the Matrix and is one of my favourites. Considered to be one of the best animated films of all time.
Spirited Away (2001):
A cute one and for the kids. There is an English dub version. Considered to be one of the best animated films of all time. "Spirited Away tells the story of Chihiro Ogino (Hiiragi), a 10-year-old girl who, while moving to a new neighbourhood, enters the world of Kami (spirits of Japanese Shinto folklore).[7] After her parents are turned into pigs by the witch Yubaba (Natsuki), Chihiro takes a job working in Yubaba's bathhouse to find a way to free herself and her parents and return to the human world."
It won an Academy award, and it's considered one of the best films. I highly recommend it, and maybe for the kids too.
Honestly I would not recommend the films if I didn't watch and enjoy them myself and think they were good.
