Women in the military share their stories of being raped - being there with aggressive men wasn't a great idea
Aside from the physical aspect of combat they are expected to do, and generally being weaker than men, there's also the problem for women of men (especially of the cruder, more aggressive type) being men.
It is unfortunate that these women were raped, but did they not expect this at all? Did they also not expect abuses of power to take place? They are in the military with typically lower IQ, and/or more aggressive men. Is it really a good idea to go there to live with them where you will be a sexual commodity?
I hope that these women and others like them will see that not all men are "nice" and in fact can be quite dangerous in terms of violence. There's a reason that many years ago the sexes were generally separated in living quarters, college dorms, for example.
It seems like in terms of human nature our understanding has jumped backwards instead of forwards. Will society ever regain old wisdoms again?
