Everything is Racist: Nobel Prizes 2020: Women honored but the awards still aren't diverse

https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/world/nobel-prizes-2020-women-honored-but-the-awards-still-aren-t-diverse/ar-BB19SKfs?ocid=spartan-ntp-feeds Once again, because Blacks, and many other groups have virtually no science Nobel Prizes that they can boast of, it must be due to racism. It has nothing to do with the fact that they just haven't done any work that's actually worth the merit of getting a prize. It's because the Nobel committee purposefully keeps Blacks, and many others down. Their shortcomings are always someone else's fault.  " Of 931 individuals and 28 organizations to have  won the prize  since the awards began, just 16 are Black. No Black winners were named in 2020. Twelve Black people have won the Peace Prize, three the Nobel Prize in Literature, and one the associated Prize in Economics awarded by Sweden's central bank in Alfred Nobel's honor. No Black recipients have ever won one of the  science prizes ." (snip) "The problems start ri...

Sunday Night at the Movies: Battleship Potemkin (1926)

Image
Sorry this is belated: From Wikipedia: Battleship Potemkin  ( Russian :  Бронено́сец «Потёмкин» ,  Bronenosets Potyomkin ), sometimes rendered as  Battleship Potyomkin , is a 1925 Soviet  silent film  directed by  Sergei Eisenstein  and produced by  Mosfilm . It presents a dramatized version of the  mutiny  that occurred in 1905 when the crew of the  Russian battleship  Potemkin  rebelled against its officers. Battleship Potemkin  was named the  greatest film of all time  at the  Brussels World's Fair  in 1958. [1] [2] [3]  In 2012, the  British Film Institute  named it the eleventh-greatest film of all time. [4] This is a pretty good film for a Soviet silent film. It's about not being treated fairly, rebellion, mutiny, and so forth. Maybe that's some of what we need now? This film was the longest banned film in the UK. Joseph Goebbels  liked the film in terms of it...

Election 2020: Upcoming Biden Presidency Discussion Thread - What This Means for the US and the World

Image
As virtually everyone already knows, after a long election, which was very very close in several states, and many days of not knowing who would win, Joe Biden has been declared the winner of the 2020 US Presidential election. Trump will not be serving as president in 2021. I had a hunch that he would lose. The Democrats have won. It seems like many Blacks voted for Biden as they usually vote for the Democrats.  The Democrats favour non-White immigration a lot, and open borders to an extent. The Democrats are more likely to pander to racial groups and generally politics that are anti-White. Will this mean that Blacks, and other non-White groups will ask for more wealth redistribution, will the riots end? Will police departments be demolished? Will the prison system be reduced as some would like? Sound off below or link to articles about the election.

Travel: My Trip to Kaliningrad, the Former Konigsberg of East Prussia

Image
I've been meaning to blog about this for quite a while, but like many things have just put it aside. A couple of years ago, in 2018 during my (budget) trip through Europe (budget in the sense that I had to stick with budget accommodation, travel, and food options), I finally decided that I would visit a place I'd been fascinated for a while now, Kaliningrad in Russia. Note that I didn't use many of the best photos I took since those are more private. Also, there are many other photos I may upload later. No time as of now. Konigsberg in the early 20th century, with a view of the demolished Konigsberg Castle Kaliningrad in 2010s, with a view of Kant's Island, and the Konigsberg Cathedral Some Background and History: For those of you that may not know, Kaliningrad is located in the westernmost part of Russia, it is part of the Kaliningrad oblast, which is an exclave cut off from the rest of Russia and sandwiched between Poland and Lithuania. It is not a part of the EU as ...

Sunday Night at the Movies: My Favorite Brunette (1947)

Image
Hello everyone. I have been using some of my free time to work on some long, and somewhat complex posts about travel, history, anthropology, race, politics, and more, however they are not ready yet. Also, I will be uploading some more movies which you may enjoy soon. In the meantime here is a past favourite of mine. My Favorite Brunette from 1947. I saw this when I was a rather lonely teenager, when it was aired on PBS, a long time ago now. I really enjoyed it when I saw it, and remember it still. It spoofs the film noir style, and stars Bob Hope and the lovely Dorothy Lamour. For some reason the copyright was not renewed and it is now in the public domain. It's a great film. It holds nostalgia for me and reminds me of being a teenager, before my life took a turn for the worse (much worse). Ah the memories...sometimes they are just precious. The description from Wikipedia: My Favorite Brunette  is a 1947 American  romantic comedy  film and  film noir  paro...

I do not think all the Negroes were that bad.

Image
Posted by John Engelman, Raceology     Hinton Rowan Helper, who compiled the accounts in The Negroes in Negroland which was published 1868,was a Southern white man who opposed slavery, voted Republican, and supported Abraham Lincoln and the Union cause during the American Civil War. He also hated Negroes. In his introduction he wrote, “Those black people…have no trait of character that is lovely or admirable. They are neither high-minded, enterprising, nor prudent.” A blanket condemnation of an entire race is not an explanation of why Helper hated Negroes; it is an assertion of his hate. I do not recognize the Negroes I have liked and befriended over the years in this description. I suspect that he has a more personal reason for his hated. He may have been a victim of black criminals. I know how that works. I have been a victim too. The Negroes in Negroland consists mainly of accounts taken from books and essays written by whites with some knowledge of Negr...

Sunday Night at the Movies: Freaked 1993

Image
Hey, all sorry for the lateness. I have been moving that took all of my time, no sleep also. This is a movie I've wanted to post for a long time now. I wanted to post it on Bond's old channel but thought the climate there was too toxic. This movie is not for everyone. It is a 90s movie that reminds me of those times just when ruder, and more surrealistic and absurdist humour style movies were being produced. There are lots of star appearances here, like Brooke Shields, Mr T, etc. This is a weird film, but I really think it captures the kind of teenage feeling of the 1990s, if you know anything about that... Freaked  is a 1993 American  comedy film  directed by  Tom Stern  and  Alex Winter , both of whom wrote the screenplay with Tim Burns. Winter also starred in the lead role. Both were involved in the short-lived  MTV  sketch comedy show  The Idiot Box , and  Freaked  retains the same brand of surrealistic and absurdist humor...

Halloween Movie: Vampyr 1932

Howdy y'all.  Sorry for the belatedness of this posting. I know Halloween is over but I was literally moving all night! To a new apartment downtown, yay no more sharing with a bunch of boors! Now however, I kind of temporarily lost my job, but not necessarily...long story...I'll figure it out.  I love Halloween. Here is a film made in 1932 released in Germany and France, but it was not well received. I posted this on Bond's old channel a while back. The director had to go to a mental hospital in France after the negative feedback, but in modern times it has had better reviews. It's a slow film, but it has an eerie atmosphere. For anyone interested I am posting it here: The film was written by Dreyer and Christen Jul based on elements from  J. Sheridan Le Fanu 's 1872 collection of supernatural stories  In a Glass Darkly .  Vampyr  was funded by  Nicolas de Gunzburg  who starred in the film under the name of Julian West among a mostly non...
